Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (e.g. myVariableName), while PascalCase capitalizes the first letter of every word including the first (e.g. MyVariableName). camelCase is common for variables and functions; PascalCase is common for class and type names.
When should I use snake_case vs kebab-case?
snake_case (words_joined_by_underscores) is standard in Python and database column names, while kebab-case (words-joined-by-hyphens) is common in URLs, CSS class names, and file names - hyphens aren't valid in most programming language identifiers, which is why snake_case is used there instead.
Does converting case change my original text?
No, the tool only reformats the letters and word separators in the output box - your original input stays untouched so you can convert it to multiple formats without retyping it.
