Discount calculation

To find a sale price, this tool multiplies the original price by the discount percentage to get your savings, then subtracts that from the original price. For example, a $100 item with a 25% discount saves you $25, bringing the final price to $75.

Tip splitting

Enter the bill total, your desired tip percentage, and the number of people splitting the bill. The calculator shows the tip amount, the grand total including tip, and exactly how much each person owes — useful for group dinners and shared expenses.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate a stacked or double discount?

This tool calculates a single discount at a time. For two discounts applied one after another (e.g. 20% then an extra 10%), apply the first discount, then run the resulting price back through the calculator with the second percentage - discounts don't simply add together.

How is the tip split calculated when the amount doesn't divide evenly?

The tip splitter divides the total bill (including tip) evenly by the number of people and shows the amount per person to the nearest cent - if you need to round to whole currency units in practice, one person may need to cover a small extra amount.

Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax amount?

Conventions vary by country and restaurant, but many guides suggest tipping on the pre-tax subtotal. Enter whichever bill amount matches your local custom, and the tool will calculate the tip and split accordingly.
